TSMIT increase from 1 July 2024

The Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) will increase from $70,000 to $73,150 from 1 July 2024.

New Nominations from this date will need to meet the new TSMIT or the Annual Market Salary Rate (AMSR) whichever if higher.

This change will not affect existing visa holders and nominations lodged before 1 July 2024.

If you intend to sponsor a person on a Subclass 482 Temporary Skills Shortage visa, the salary must meet certain requirements. The salary threshold, TSMIT is set by the Department of Home Affairs. This cannot include any benefits such as a car allowance.

A person should be paid no less than an Australian worker doing the same job, in the same location. This is the AMSR.
